3cubed is a design led ceramics company based in West Sussex. It was founded in 2006 by Rosie Simmons. Rosie is a skilled craftswoman who specialises in industrial ceramics and manufacturing to create unique quality products. She designs her own ranges and styles and organises the production of Timorous Beasties' homewares.
Rosie is a graduate from Glasgow School of Art. She has a MA with distinction in Ceramic Design for Industry from Staffordshire University. She spent five years as a surface pattern designer for Wedgwood and then settled in London to do freelance consultancy work for major retail and interior companies. This background gives 3cubed unique qualities that combine fine artistic sensibility and superb craftsmanship with a solid understanding of both old and new industrial techniques. The designs for the products have a timeless quality, inspired as they often are by Rosie’s rural surroundings. 3cubed's ranges are created to suit both modern and traditional lifestyles.
Collaborations and on going projects.
Rosie has many years experience of productive work in a wide variety of collaborations ranging from interior design in-put with the architectural salvage company Retrouvius, to designing commemorative plate and mugs for Pallant House Gallery's 300 year anniversary. At present she works collaboratively with a local tile manufacture, Froyle Tiles. She designs on their handcrafted tiles enhancing their unique stone lustre glazes. The majority of 3cubed products are sourced and manufactured in the United Kingdom and Europe.
